Students

You do not need a business plan.

You need curiosity, ambition, and a willingness to build. Everything else we figure out together.

Who should join

If any of these sound like you, you are in the right place.

You have an idea

And no clue what the next step is. That is exactly the right time to show up.

You have no idea

You want to build something but do not know what yet. Come find a team.

You can build

Engineering, design, or code, and you want a real project instead of another class assignment.

You are curious

You want to understand how ventures actually get started before you try one.

Why join

What you get out of it.

  • Meet collaborators who complement your skills
  • Build real projects, not hypotheticals
  • Learn startup skills you will not get in a lecture
  • Explore entrepreneurship with low stakes
  • Connect with driven students across majors
  • Turn an idea into something people can actually use

How it works

Four steps in.

Apply

A short form. Who you are, what you are curious about. No resume, no pitch deck.

Come to a meeting

Our kick-off is Monday, October 12 at 6:00 PM, and it opens with a $150 team competition. Location is being finalized; we will post it here and send it to everyone who has signed up.

Find your people

Team-building sessions pair you with members whose skills fit what you want to make.

Build something

Workshops, pitch nights, and venture projects take it from idea to shipped.

Questions

Before you ask.

Do I need a business background?

No. Most members do not have one.

What majors join?

All of them. Ventures need builders, designers, writers, and organizers.

Is there a time commitment?

Yes. Venture teams meet through the semester and the work is real. Open sessions have none.

Are there dues?

No dues planned.

Ready to start?

Apply to the HIVE.

Takes about five minutes.
